In the cost of restoration there are three steps to reproducing your image:

 1. Digitising

Of course you may supply a digital copy.

Scanning:  $12  Any size scan up to A3 (297x420mm).

Scanning

Usually only the print remains in personal collections, however if the negative is available, so much the better and the same rate applies. Scans are performed on an ‘Epson Perfection V700 Photo’ scanner.

Photographic copy: Over A3 POA

2. Photo Restoration

  •  Basic: $25  Mild  dust & scratches, tone and colour correction.
  • Intermediate: $40  Detailed cleanup, repair small cracks and moderate retouching.
  • Advanced: $60<  Large cracks*, image damage, element removal etc.

*Advanced crack elimination involves rebuilding complex elements such as eyes etc. When working on facial features, other photos are often helpful and sometimes completely necessary.

3. Archival Printing

4×6: $6.50

5×7: $9

A4: $25     10×8″: $21

A3+: $45     10×12″: $31

Over A3+ POA

Exhibition lustre or cotton rag paper is used and when stored in a photo album can last up to 200 years. Copy & enlargement from photographs or documents supplied. Enlargements from files submitted are entirely dependant on scan resolution.

A discount rate may be applied for a number of images that need attention and if your archives really need sorting out, family or corporate rates can be negotiated.

Every image is unique

… so every job has it’s own demands and considered independently.
The cost of photo restoration varies greatly. Your ‘eye’ is the primary authority, if your expectations are not met, there is no obligation.

..So you can see for this particular photograph, a basic restoration would not cover the damage. However an intermediate restore would have it back to original whereas an advanced restore would make it exceptional.
